About the Event
The Edison Neighborhood Association has some passionate volunteers to help 1st & 2nd grade students with their reading skills, so we are starting a free afterschool program in our community room! We will hosting the weekly program on Wednesdays 4-6pm, beginning April 26th Meet The Tutors: Ginny Middleton taught Kindergarten and First grade for over 40 years. She is concerned about children struggling to read. Ginny uses methods involving games and activities that are fun for children. Dianna tutored elementary school students for many years, making big strides in reading proficiency for over 300 kids. As a bonus, she speaks Spanish. Ginny and Diana will tutor students in 15 minute increments. To help engage the students before and after the tutoring session we will be having an art class that students will be able to pop in and out of. The art class will be lead by our Program Director, Eana Agopian. Eana has a Masters in Arts Education and is excited to utilize her background in her role here at the association.
