The Kalamazoo Farmers Market Returns to Bank Street This Season, Seeks New Vendors

The Kalamazoo Farmers Market is returning to its newly renovated site at 1204 Bank St.

The Kalamazoo Farmers Market has opened applications to vendors for its 2022 season, which will re-open at 1204 Bank Street. The first phase of construction is expected to be complete this spring, and includes renovated vendor pavilions, restrooms, parking lots, the realignment of Bank Street, and new access to the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail.

Customers can shop fresh foods and handmade goods from over 100 local farmers, food businesses, and artisans beginning Opening Day on May 7. The Kalamazoo Farmers Market will operate every Saturday from 7 am to 2 pm through November 19, 2022. Tuesday Markets and Thursday Markets, now both open from 8 am to 1 pm, will operate from June 7, 2022 through mid-October.

Night Markets, organized in partnership with Can-Do Kalamazoo, are scheduled for June 16, July 21, August 18, and September 15, 2022. Night Markets feature more artisans and food trucks than Saturdays, though shoppers will be able to complete your trip with fresh fruits and veggies, meat, cheese, and locally made value-added products.

Those interested in becoming a vendor at any PFC Markets can apply online at pfcmarkets.com. The priority application deadline is March 25 for seasonal vendors, although applications may be accepted throughout the season. Additional questions can be directed to Katelyn Bekken-Simpson, Market Manager, at pfcmarkets@pfckalamazoo.coop.

The Market participates in many food assistance programs, including SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, WIC Project FRESH, and Senior Market FRESH. As the season approaches, customers will be able to find a list of participating vendors and their stall locations, and more info on what to expect when shopping the Market this season on the Kalamazoo Farmers Market’s website, pfcmarkets.com.
